Tephritis ruralis is a small species of fruit fly. The species is widespread but has only scattered records. It is known for its strongly patterned wings and is one of the many similar looking members of the Tephritidae family. The lavrae cause a gall to form on the stem of the Mouse-ear Hawkweed plant during the summer.

Lichen

Lichen are only recorded at each new OS Grid location (hover for Grid Ref). They are then entered on the British Lichen Society spreadsheet and submitted for their Warwickshire VC38 Lichen database and Lichen mapping.

To give a sense of scale all the lichen photographs noted specifically as close up use the scale of the photographed scale bar below which is in millimetres i.e. 1mm to 3mm..

A lichenicolous fungus is a parasitic fungus that only lives on lichen.

Illosporiopsis christiansenil &.Erythricium aurantiacum are two of the most easily identifiable Lichenicolous Fungi.
