I am a walker who has now combined walking with close up amateur nature photography.
My walks started in 2019 and are based around the Studley/Alcester/Bidford/Stratford & Evesham areas and utilise part of the Heart of England Way/ Monarchs Way/Shakespeare's Avon Way and other connecting paths close by.
In general about a 12 mile radius centred on the town of Alcester with walks ranging 9 to 15 miles..
Strange as it may seem I don’t actively search out particular subjects to photograph but just keep my eyes open as much as possible when walking.
Identifications have been made using the references listed and are my best attempt and cannot be taken as being correct on my interpretation alone (particularly for the Fungi and Lichen photographs). Some renaming of these sample photographs will be required as more experience in identification is gained.
Lichens have become of particular interest and a separate library has been included for these photographs and locations.
Currently I use a NIKON COOLPIX A900 camera which can be slipped into the side pocket of a small rucksac. It was chosen for its 35X optical zoom for photographing birds. My interests soon broadened out and currently it is mostly used on macro mode.
Photographs that I post are compressed to Web Page size using Microsoft office - typically a 7.90MB photograph is posted compressed to 91.5KB - with a corresponding loss in quality.
All photographs with a black surround box are from Warwickshire. Other locations outside Warwickshire are indicated with a red surround box.
